Bus and Bus Mobility Business – Verona, Italy – 18-21 November
A new exhibition is about to open in Verona, Italy, that is specifically focussed on gas-powered buses and people-transport. “Bus and Bus Mobility Business” is the first event of Greenercities, an international project dedicated to the development of an ever growing demand for environmentally friendly eco-sustainable vehicles, specifically in the segment of public transportation. The organisation argues that market studies have revealed an extensive lack of information related to the advantages of cleaner fuels such as CNG and Biogas, compared to traditional ones like gasoline or diesel.
The exhibition, supported by NGVA Europe, was initiated by NGVA Europe member Raufoss Fuel Systems, together with the industrial companies Cavagna Group, Fornovogas, Metatron and Ragasco. Many of NGVA Europe’s members, like EMT (Empresa Municipal de Transportes), the Madrid municipal bus company, with more than 500 NG/biomethane powered city buses in operation, will also come to the exhibition.
The Greenercities project initiators are high profile companies which are currently operating in the “natural gas as an alternative fuel” panorama.
The event aims to further the Objectives of Greenercities, namely:
- Spread awareness among Public Transportation Operators, that the use of cleaner fuels is a readily available solution.
- Directly promote CNG and Biogas fuelling technologies among bus manufacturers, municipalities and public transportation operators throughout Europe within their common meeting ground and interest groups.
- Assist Public Transportation Operators find out the most suitable solution for their own context, promoting especially those leading technologies leading which are considered a “bridge” to Hydrogen fuelling such as H2+CNG blends.
- Provide solutions of all aspects of CNG and Biogas fuelling technology to customers and transportation operators
- Emphasize that the actual overall costs with the use of cleaner fuels like CNG and Biogas is economically viable if compared to the overall operation costs of vehicles running on traditional fuels
- Provide service and information to Transportation Bodies and Bus OEMS to improve their effectiveness in promoting these fuelling technologies.
