Scandinavian stakeholders are to examine the opportunities for
bio-methane in transport at a conference to be held in Helsinki,
Finland in February 2006 (8th & 9th). The Nordic Biogas Conference
will examine policy, sources of biogas and processing requirements to
produce bio-methane for transport use.
Natural gas vehicle use in Finland to date has been limited mainly
to compressed natural gas (CNG) buses in Helsinki. The extension of a
natural gas pipeline from Russia into western areas of the country,
along with bio-methane opportunities in the country, is expected to
allow for a public CNG refuelling station network to be established in
the near future.
Conference details can be found here.
