Fiat Panda Natural Power Tops ADAC Economy Test

June 3, 2010 | Germany

Fiat Panda Natural Power outperforms all-comers for economy.

ADAC, the German drivers’ association (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil Club), has provided a fuel-economy comparison of 241 current model cars, covering a variety of fuel types. The objective of the testing was to see how far EUR 30 (USD 36.70) would propel a car. The clear winner was the Fiat Panda 1.2 8V Natural Power, covering a sensational 724 kms. Using the same test parameters the BMW X6 ActiveHybrid managed just 171 kms; to travel the same distance as the Panda would have cost the BMW driver EUR 127.

ADAC also draws attention to the cleanest car tested when measuring environmental impact – the first 5-star rated vehicle rated in ADAC’s EcoTest and still top-of-list natural gas powered VW Passat 1.4 TSI Highline DSG EcoFuel. This car scored 92 points on that test and also performed exceptionally well on the fuel-economy test – a creditable 658 kms.
