The Dutch province of Overijssel, and other stakeholders including ROVA, VAR and Salland Oil have joined forces for a demonstration project producing biomethane for natural gas vehicles. Feedstock for the project will be domestic green waste collected as part of the province's waste collection process. Byproducts from the process will also be reused for compost. The project is supported by funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs under a Unique Opportunities Scheme (UKR) to the tune of 4 million Euros. Objectives of the project include CO2 reductions and air quality improvements. Contact details at ROVA for further information can be found by following the link above (Dutch language site).
