CSA America’s Cylinder Inspector Certification committee, which is comprised of technical experts from throughout the industry, met on February 21st & 22nd in Cleveland, OH.  This meeting marked the initiation of a project to update the entire existing personnel certification program.

This effort is the first in a series of activities intended to align the program with the requirements of the recently adopted ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Systems of Persons” standard.  The committee’s initial work is expected to be completed by mid-summer. 

CSA’s Cylinder Inspector program was initiated at the request of the compressed NGV industry in 1999.  Since that time, over 1,500 people have applied for certification.  Follow this link for  information about CSA’s Cylinder Inspector Personnel Certification Program.
