A revised amendment for the universal NGV-1 fuel
connector/receptacle will beproposed at the next meeting in Geneva of
the Group of Experts on Pollution andEnergy (GRPE) in the week of 10 January 2007.
The amendment will encompass various improvements proposed by ENGVA
experts, ISO 14469.1 (very similar to the ANSI AGA NGV1).
If successful, the fuel connector standard will become part of the ECE
United Nations international regulations and, hopefully, would help
harmonize on a global basis the same NGV connector, thus reducing the
need for having additional adaptor connectors and improving the
drive-ability of NGV`s between different countries without fear of not
being able to get fuel due to different nozzles and receptacles mounted
on the vehicle.
