Every compressed natural gas (CNG) cylinder of every CNG vehicle on the road requires periodic inspection. This has created a demand for certified inspectors. The inspector needs to know what to look for, how to visually inspect, and how to determine whether the container is safe.
The National Alternative Fuels Training Consortium (NAFTC), headquartered at West Virginia University, has developed a thoroughly-researched, instructionally-sound, easily-applied training program for CNG cylinder inspection. Participants gain a thorough knowledge of all required inspections, tests, and apparatus and inspection procedures applicable to the types of cylinders to be inspected through a combination of classroom and hands-on laboratory activities.
NAFTC is offering its next class on CNG Cylinder Inspection on July 26-27, 2007 at NAFTC WVU headquarters/training facility in Morgantown, WV. The cost is $500.00 US (manual included). For more information, contact Adam Brown at 304/293-7882 or
