ENGVA participated in a meeting of the Committee for European Normalisation (CEN) Technical Committee 326 in Brussels on 13 December 2006 where members met to work out a number of contentious elements and inconsistencies in the fueling station standard that have been a cause for the standard not moving forward in the final part of the approval process. Committee Chairman Martin Seifert led the meeting of experts who sorted through CEN’s list of objections.
Together with the ENGVA director and others, linguistic changes and concerns about compatibility with other CEN standards were worked out. TC 326 leadership believes that the CEN fuelling station standard (European Norm 13638) should be able to move forward in the final Draft International Standard (DIS) stage for a a final vote by the participating countries to a completed standard at some point before the end of 2007.
