Gil Sperling, moving on from NGVAmerica USA, Washington DC
NGVAmerica has announced a changing of the guard for their Director of
Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel. Long time appointee, Gil
Sperling has left the position to take up a role with the Pipeline
Research Council International (PRCI) and will be replaced by Jeff
Clarke, who used to work with NGVAmerica in its previous incarnation,
the NGV Coalition.
NGVAmerica President, Rich Kolodziej expressed heart-felt
appreciation and deep sadness ad Sperling’s departure. “Gil was
among a small cadre of executives that had the vision to plan,
organize, and establish the Natural Gas Vehicle Coalition. Since
its inception in 1988, Gil has served as the organization’s General
Counsel and all-around legislative and regulatory expert, guiding the
organization on a wide array of NGV issues. A key player in the
passage of every pro-NGV Congressional bill – from the Alternative
Motor Fuels Act of 1988 to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, Gil has also
spearheaded the regulations that devolved from those laws.”
Since leaving the NGVC, and prior to his reappointment, Jeff Clarke
worked in the Washington Office of the National Renewable Energy
Laboratory (NREL), and then for several years with NewWest
Technologies, LLC, where he worked on a number of DE-related
projects. Jeff has nearly 15 years of experience in dealing with
energy and transportation regulations. Besides handling
NGVAmerica’s legal issues, he will responsible for outreach efforts
with the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency and
the other federal agencies. Clarke can be reached at 202/824-7364
