Baytech Corporation has received 2008 EPA and CARB certifications for their compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane fueled GM 8.1L and 6.0L heavy-duty engines. The heavy-duty engines, now available for new 2008 and 2009 model year vehicles, are offered in both dedicated CNG or propane and dual fuel (CNG or gasoline and propane or gasoline) configurations in all 50 US states.
Baytech’s CNG and propane 8.1L engines are certified for use in the GMC
Topkick/Chevrolet Kodiak C Series and Workhorse heavy-duty vehicles.
The CNG and propane 6.0L engines are certified for use in the
GMC/Chevrolet W4500, GMC Savanna/Chevrolet Express 4500 Cutaway Van,
Isuzu NPR HD and Workhorse heavy-duty vehicles.
Baytech is proceeding with development and certification of CNG systems
for light duty GM, Isuzu, and Workhorse vehicles equipped with the 6.0L
engine. Baytech expects to have CNG systems for these vehicles
available for the 2009 model year.
