Natural gas vehicle (NGV) industry stakeholders in Australia have met in Melbourne to consider the formation of a national NGV industry association. The meeting was attended by more than 40 representatives from all sectors of the industry, including fleet operators, energy suppliers, compression equipment suppliers, converters and others.
Increased availability of natural gas vehicles, particularly in the heavy vehicle sector, and Australia’s abundance of domestic natural gas, and surging oil prices have combined to create an increased demand for engines and vehicles running on compressed or liquefied natural gas. The meeting resolved to establish a formation committee, which will devise a draft structure for the proposed association. Interested parties should contact Tony Middleton (Advanced Engine Components) for further information –
