Eco:Drive Now Available for Fiat Natural Power Models

April 1, 2010 | Italy
Fiat EcoDrive

Fiat Eco:Drive increases drivers' awareness of fuel consumption.

Eco:Drive, a system that allows motorists a better understanding of the way in which their driving style influences fuel consumption and which may lead to an increased environmental impact, is now available for all Fiat Natural Power models. The new version of the much lauded software developed by Fiat and Eni, will enable owners of bi-fuel vehicles (petrol and methane) to accurately quantify the environmental and economic advantages linked to the use of methane, by verifying emissions data, CNG fuel consumption and distance covered during each journey. Data will be made meaningful by objectively comparing it to an identical journey using gasoline.

Using a USB memory stick for communication between vehicle and computer, it will work for all the vehicles equipped with a Blue&Me device. A short video demonstrates the program.

The new eco:Drive software is free to download at www.fiat.com/ecodrive and is available for the Blu&Me-equipped Grande Punto, Punto Evo, and  Qubo. Future buyers of Grande Punto and Punto Evo will have the software already available in the vehicle; the upgrade will be produced and installed in the cars released from mid-April.

Current owners of Grande Punto and Punto Evo can use the software by installing an upgrade, available from any authorized Fiat garage. Current owners and future buyers of Qubo can immediately use the new version.

The owners of Fiat Natural Power vehicles are invited to an EcoVille community, where over 35,000 drivers have already saved up 2,700 tons of CO2.
