Cummins Westport Completes First Commercial Sale of 2007 ISL G Natural Gas Engine

October 25, 2006

Canada, Vancouver

Cummins Westport Inc. (CWI), has announced the first commercial order
of CWI’s ISL G natural gas engine from Sacramento Regional Transit of
Sacramento, California. The order is for 91 ISL G engines to be
installed in 40’ Low-Floor Buses in 2007.

“We’re very pleased that Sacramento Regional Transit is to be the
launch customer for the ISL G,” said Gordon Exel, CWI’s Vice-President
and General Manager, Americas. “Sacramento has operated natural gas
vehicles for over twelve years and is considered to be a trend-setter
in the industry. The ISL G is the most advanced natural gas engine
available and will feature NOx and PM emissions that will meet 2010
emissions guidelines while at the same time providing improved
performance and fuel economy.”

"We have been very satisfied with the Cummins Westport products
currently in our fleet,” stated Ned Fox, Sacramento Regional Transit’s
Director of Maintenance. “We decided to purchase the ISL G-powered
vehicles because they will deliver improved performance while producing
the lowest emissions in the industry. Sacramento Regional Transit is
committed to delivering the best service to our customers while
preserving the environment for future generations."

About The Cummins Westport ISL G

The ISL G will surpass EPA and CARB 2007 phase-in levels and meet 2010
emission standards of 0.2 g/bhp-hr NOx and 0.01 g/bhp-hr PM at launch
in 2007. Based on the Cummins ISL, the ISL G leverages Cummins proven
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (“EGR”) and stoichiometric combustion
allowing for the use of a three way catalyst, which is maintenance free
and has been in common use in passenger cars since the 1970s. In
addition to delivering ultra low emissions, the ISL G, with ratings
from 250 to 320 horsepower, will deliver increased thermal efficiency
and over 30% higher low-speed torque compared with today’s “Plus”
engines. More information about the ISL G can be found at: http://www.cumminswestport.com/products/islg.php
