Culver City Adds Second Generation of CNG Refuse Trucks

October 15, 2010 | USA, Hagerstown IN

Culver City has one of the largest compressed natural gas fleets in the country.

The City of Culver City, California has purchased a second cycle of dedicated Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) powered front loading refuse trucks for its fleet. These new trucks, joining the City’s growing fleet of Autocar refuse chassis equipped with Amrep bodies and AFV fuel systems, are replacing eight (8) year-old CNG front loaders. This makes Culver City one of the first municipalities to commence operations of their second generation of CNG refuse trucks. They use the Cummins ISL-G, CNG engine rated at 320hp.

Item primarily compiled using information from an Autocar, LLC press release.
