Cryostar Launches 2-Stage Submerged LNG Pump

September 3, 2008

cryostar100.gifIANGV/NGV GLOBAL ADVERTISER

LNG Equipment manufacturer Cryostar has launched a new ‘Subtran’ 2-stage LNG submerged centrifugal pump for liquid transfer, LNG stations and micro-bulk delivery.

The main advantage of this new pump is that it can be easily installed in all existing piping systems for semi-trailer or stationary use, without modification of the installation.
Its robust design prevents high vibrations giving an extended bearing lifetime.

Cryostar Subtrans LNG PumpIt is hermetically encapsulated thus no shaft seal is needed.

Its motor bearings are lubricated by the process fluid itself, resulting in a “zero-maintenance” design. In addition, the cooling of the electrical motor is done by the pumped liquid which increases considerably its lifetime.

You can start and stop the pump immediately without cooling it down.

The balanced and machined inducer allows the lowest possible NPSH requirement, all along the performance curve.

It has a highly efficient closed impeller made by “lost wax” casting.

The casing has an optimal shape with a machined axial diffuser with all rotating parts balanced individually.
Its noise level is very low thanks to the submerged design.

Service conditions:
Medium LIN, LAR, LNG
Max suction pressure 15 bar
Max flow 360l/min (95 GPM)
Max differential head 320 m
Maximum speed 5,400 rpm
Design pressure 20 bar
Number of stages 2
Suction connection 2” 150 lbs
Vent connection 1” 150 lbs
Drain connection ¾” 150 lbs
Discharge connection 1” 300 lbs

Motor data:
Electrical motor 15 kW (@ 95 Hz)
