CNG Vehicles – An Easy Choice

March 17, 2008

Thomas Scherrer, sales manager of Zil garage St.Gallen AG, hands over four gas Opel Combo's to Thomas Baumann, CEO of Electro Baumann AG.Switzerland

The notable "yellow fleet" of Baumann Electro AG in St. Gallen has received a welcome addition of four new natural gas vehicles – the Opel Combo CNG. Thomas Baumann, CEO of Electro Baumann AG, said, "The decision to convert to natural gas vehicles is easy for us, mainly due to the significantly lower pollution, with approximately 25% lower CO2 emissions than a comparable gasoline car. Secondly, the choice appeals to our cost consciousness. Natural gas costs per litre (petrol equivalent) about 35 cents less than petrol and can be used on city gas at the nearby gas station." Currently the Swiss filling station network has around 97 gas filling stations and will be continuously expanded.
