USA, Waukesha
Dresser Waukesha, a manufacturer of spark-ignited, gaseous-fueled engines, is partnering with its sister company, Dresser Wayne, to supply engines that will drive compressors in compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations in Thailand. In the first collaborative effort by the two Dresser businesses, Dresser Waukesha will supply 12 VGF(R) engines which will be packaged with Dresser Wayne’s Cubogas(TM) compression systems at the company’s facility in Talamona, Italy. The packaged compression units will be shipped from Italy to Thailand and are scheduled for installation later this year at new filling stations in and around Bangkok.
“We’ve specialized in clean burning natural gas engines for decades,” said Lloyd Beauchamp, vice president of sales for Dresser Waukesha, “and we’re pleased to participate in a project that supports a transportation infrastructure for the people of Thailand using this same plentiful, environmentally-friendly fuel.”
The new stations, equipped with large engine-driven compression units, are designed for high volume and will reduce delivery times at the dispenser. The stations will also fill tanker trucks supplying smaller daughter stations. The Waukesha engines will be fueled by methane and will provide back-up power for the compressor systems. (Press Release)
