TÜV Saarland (The NGV competence centre of Technischer Überwachungs Vereinaka) of Germany is on a quest to prove that natural gas vehicles can be ‘very powerful and sexy’, building a compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelled Audi A4 to attempt an NGV high speed world record next month. The car is a modified standard Audi A4 which the team is hoping to take to 350 km/h at Papenburg in Germany (date to be confirmed). IANGV regional affiliate NGVA Europe is supporting the attempt and TÜV are also hoping to attract commercial sponsorhip for the project.
