Clean Energy Vehicle Project Arrives in Tianjin, China

Tianjin Huanjie Auto Energy Co., Ltd. has gained approval for business operations in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA), in north-eastern China. The company has set up two car modification plants in the area for conversion of vehicles to CNG. According to a report carried by Cleaner Greener China, the company expects to modify 8,000 vehicles, including state-owned vehicles and taxis, in the Tianjin Binhai New Area (TBNA) and 32,000 vehicles in downtown Tianjin by the end of 2010. Buses and refuse vehicles are also included in the types of vehicles mooted for conversion.

Tianjin Huanjie Auto Energy Co., Ltd. has also been chosen by the Tianjin Municipal Science & Technology Commission to participate in the National Key Technology R&D Program and the Service Team for Clean Energy Vehicles. The company will advance clean energy vehicle projects in the area, using compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) technologies of China National Petroleum Corporation and China National Offshore Oil Corporation.
