Clean Air Power to Develop Dual-Fuel Snow Blower

May 10, 2010 | UK and Sweden

Clean Air Power (CAP), the developer of dual-fuel combustion technology that enables heavy-duty diesel engines to operate on a combination of diesel and natural gas, has received a purchase order from a global manufacturer of construction equipment to develop a dual-fuel Snow-Blower demonstrator to be delivered to Stockholm airport, Sweden. Under the terms of the agreement, Clean Air Power will convert two 9 litre engines with the purpose of demonstrating the efficiency and cost saving capabilities that its technology offers end users. To this effect, the target is to reach a 50% substitution level, which is the measure of energy substituted by gas. Once converted, the vehicle must also demonstrate drivability and robustness. The demonstration is due to be completed by May 2011.
