China, Beijing

XFN reports that
China’s reliance on oil imports will reach 60% by 2020. The report
quotes a representative for the China Energy Research Society as saying
that demand in 2020 will equal 500 million tons of crude oil per year,
of which 300 will have to be imported. The report also says China
imported 123 million tons in 2004, meeting 35% of current demand.
