GAIL and Eden Unite for Hydrogen-Enriched Natural Gas Bus Trial

February 24, 2010 – 3:52 pm

India’s natural gas distributor GAIL (India) Ltd is to join with an Australian firm Eden Energy Ltd (Eden) in what could be the largest trial of a hydrogen-enriched blend of natural gas (HCNG) for transport. Descibing the trial as commercial in scale, Eden says the project  is designed to reduce pollution levels from India’s massive public transport bus fleets. The trial is expected to see between 50-70 buses on the streets of Mumbai, a city of some 16 million people, by the end of this year.

Hythane Calibration for Ford 6.8L V10 Engine Certified by CARB

August 12, 2009 – 6:48 am | USA, California
The Ford E450's engine now certified for running on Hythane

The Ford E450 - now certified for running on Hythane

Australian based energy provider Eden Energy Limited, and US converter BAF Technologies, have developed a Hythane® calibration for Ford 6.8L V10 engines used in E-450 vehicles. The calibration, which demonstrates the dramatic emissions reductions that can be achieved through the use of Hythane® a blend of hydrogen and compressed natural gas (HCNG), has been granted certification by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB certification allows commercial sale and use of the engine, no longer limiting it to use in demonstration projects.
