Maruti Suzuki Launches Sixth CNG Model – ‘Ertiga Green’
Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited (Maruti) has launched the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) variant of it’s award winning 7-seater utility vehicle, the Ertiga. Badged as the ‘Ertiga Green’, the MPV will be available in LXi and VXi variants. Maruti says Ertiga is the only factory fitted CNG vehicle in its segment with the CNG system fitted on the conventional assembly line. Read more »

CenterPoint Energy Natural Gas Vehilce Initiatives Grown NGV Fleet
Texas-based energy provider CenterPoint Energy will add 35 natural gas vehicles to its fleet across Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas in 2013. Volvo Unveils New V60 Bi-Fuel Wagon

The Volvo V 60 Bi-Fuel made its world premiere in conjunction with NGVA Europe’s automotive gas fair, NGV 2013, in Gothenburg this week. The V60, unveiled as part of the first day’s study tour, is expected to go on sale in October this year, in Sweden. The Bi-fuel version is certified to meet Sweden’s new stricter environmental regulations which commenced start of 2013, qualifying the vehicle for significant tax concessions. Read more »

The natural gas fueled Fiat TwinAir Turbo engine has been voted the Best Green Engine of the Year 2013. The results of the 2013 International Engine of the Year Awards were announced at Engine Expo in Stuttgart, Germany on June 5. The global jury, consisting of some of the world’s most respected and popular motoring journalists selected the 1.4-litre, 875cc, two-cylinder turbo CNG engine as winner of the Green Engine category, thereby securing the first ever Awards victory for compressed natural gas (CNG) technology. Pennsylvania’s Natural Gas Grant Program in Full Swing
Round 2 Applications Open; Round 1 Successful Applicants Notified
The US State of Pennsylvania has made available an estimated $10 million in grants through the Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant Program for organizations, non-profit agencies, for profit companies, commonwealth or municipal authorities and local transportation organizations in Round 2 of funding which opened May 25th. The grant funds available will include an opportunity to propose projects which will convert or purchase natural gas vehicles (NGVs) weighing less than 14,000 pounds as well as convert or purchase other alternative fuel vehicles. Progressive Waste Plans CNG Fleet Expansion
North American full-service waste management company Progressive Waste Solutions Ltd, which already has Canada’s largest waste and recycling collection fleet of natural gas powered vehicles, plans to significantly increase the number of natural gas powered trucks it purchases. Liquiline, a global gas technology company, has completed a new unmanned filling station for gas vehicles in Haninge, a municipality in Stockholm county in east central Sweden for client E.ON. Potigás Launches Campaign to Stimulate CNG in Rio Grande do Norte
Brazilian gas company Companhia Potiguar de Gás (Potigás), responsible for distribution of gas in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, has launched a new initiative designed to revitalise the natural gas vehicle (NGV) fuel market in the state. The initiative’s objectives will be achieved through promotion of the wide distribution of advantages and demystification of the fuel.
