Russia’s 5th Blue Corridor Rally Nears Start Date
Preparation are underway for the fifth “Blue Corridor” rally for factory-made natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in Russia. This year organised by Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg, the journey will commence October 19th in Yekaterinburg, passing through Chelyabinsk – Ufa – Orenburg – Samara – Saratov – Volgograd – Voronezh – Tambov – Tula – to reach Moscow on November 1st, at distance of 3600 km.

ANGVA 2013 Conference Set for India

The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles (ANGVA), and Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES) have signed an agreement for organising ANGVA’s 5th Biennial International Conference & Exhibition (ANGVA 2013). ANGVA 2013 will be held from 29th – 31st October 2013 in New Delhi, India at the India Expo Centre. The theme is “Natural Gas for Vehicles – The Next Generation”. The agreement was signed by ANGVA President Mr. Wichai Pornkeratiwat (Senior Executive Vice President, Gas Business Unit, PTT PLC) and BES General Manager Mr. Justin Pau, at the Sofitel Centara Bangkok Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. ANGVA’s 4th Conference is in Beijing, China, 18th – 20th October 2011.
NGV Conference Planned for Dublin
Fuelling Ireland’s Transport Future – Dublin, November 17 2011
Ireland is to host a natural gas vehicle conference in Dublin on November 17th, to examine natural gas as a transport fuel and also discuss developing a NGV market in Ireland. The conference will be addressed by an expert panel of local and visiting speakers, including NGVA Europe’s Manuel Lage, American Gas Association and Questar’s Ronald W. Jibson, and Mattias Svensson from the Swedish Gas Centre. Delegates from across the Irish energy and transport sectors and Europe will hear from those with experience of operating NGVs as well as gaining an understanding of important issues around the economics, technology and infrastructure for NGVs.

Kazakhstan Builds on Successful NGV Implementation

Over the past two years the Republic of Kazakhstan has embraced natural gas for transportation, celebrated and formally kicked off last March 2011 with a Clean Cities Transportation Workshop in Almaty, and the commissioning of its first refuelling infrastructure in April 2010. With concrete plans to build 100 CNG stations and distribute over 100,000 NGVs by 2014, Kazakhstan is said by some to be the next frontier for NGV growth in the Asia Pacific region. Now the country is ready to share its experiences with other cities in the region, via a CNG-NGV Central Asia Forum to be held later this month.

ANGVA Kicks Off NGV Green Highway to Beijing
As part of the build-up to ANGVA’s 4th Natural Gas for Vehicles Conference & Exhibition for Asia-Pacific in Beijing, October 18-20, ANGVA kicked off the Green Highways 2011 (AGH2011) Southern Route on 12th July 2011 in Jakarta. The AGH2011′s torch and scroll was handed over from Team Indonesia to Team Singapore during the Flag off ceremony. ANGVA also held a Roundtable Forum over 12-13 July to discuss Effective Strategies to Push Indonesia’s CNG/NGV Program Successfully beyond 2011, attended by around 90 participants.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hosting a Clean Cities Transportation Workshop for Almaty, to be held 30-31st March 2011 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The event is a first step in introducing an implementation ‘roadmap’ to support a newly developing Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) strategy for Almaty City and Kazakhstan. It also will be used to introduce a wide range of information about NGVs, including global NGV development, vehicles and fueling segments, and standards and regulations.
