
A Waste Management slow-fill facility for one of its CNG-fuelled fleets.
Waste Management of Illinois, Inc., a waste management services provider and subsidiary of Waste Management, Inc., has signaled its commitment to using trucks powered by clean-burning fuels in dedicating a commercial compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facility in Stickney, Illinois. The facility is equipped with 55 “slow-fuel” stations for the Company’s growing CNG fleet of trucks.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp., North American provider of natural gas fuel for transportation, has contracted with major Southeast U.S. solid waste collection, recycling and disposal company Waste Pro USA to build, operate and maintain a new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station on Waste Pro property in Fort Pierce, FL. The private time-fill fueling facility will support the company’s new fleet of CNG-powered trash trucks.

Veolia ES Solid Waste, Inc., the solid waste division of Veolia Environmental Services North America, has introduced Indiana’s first fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) powered refuse trucks to its Evansville, Indiana service area. Indiana-based manufacturer Autocar built the chassis for 20 of the trucks and Kenworth manufactured eight roll-off trucks for Veolia’s new fleet. 
CNG Net, a subsidiary of Ballast Nedam, is set to deliver 12 million m3 of biomethane for all 225 city buses of Connexxion in the city area of Arnhem/Nijmegen in the Netherlands from the end of 2012. The company will also enter into a strategic alliance with Connexxion, which will operate this concession for a period of 10 years under the name of Breng. CNG Net says the contract volume of nearly 12 million m3 per year makes this the largest public transport concession for refined biogas (biomethane) in the Netherlands.
The Semardel Group, developer and manager of the collection, treatment and transformation of household and economic waste, is extending the compression capability of its compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station on the ‘Ecosite de Vert-le-Grand/Echarcon’ to meet the growing number of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) operated by Semaer. Additionally, Semardel is to implement a biomethane solution for fleet refuelling. 



In increasing numbers, major U.S. contract freight carriers are deploying heavy-duty natural gas-powered trucks to support their customers’ supply chain transport requirements, says Clean Energy Fuels Corporation’s Chief Marketing Officer, James Harger. Clean Energy, North American supplier of natural gas fuel for transportation, contracts with carrier fleet operators to provide compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueling services at Clean Energy public access stations nationwide.
The Governing Board of the City of Madrid has authorized the Municipal Transport Company of Madrid (EMT) to enter into a leasing contract worth EUR 25 million (USD 33 million) for the purchase of 81 new ‘green’ buses in 2012. The measure is part of the investment policy of the company, which provides for the renewal of the fleet with the acquisition of a total of 123 new compressed natural gas (CNG) and hybrid-electric natural gas buses to implement the Madrid’s 2011-2015 Air Quality Plan.
