
Technical Tour to Pertamina's CNG station at Jalan Pemuda
The Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association reports that 122 local and 59 overseas delegates attended the conference and technical tour of the Go Gas 2011 Forum, held in Jakarta early December. The Forum’s objectives included revitalization of the CNG/NGV Programme in Indonesia, supporting the government programmes of reducing consumption of gasoline and diesel, reducing emissions from the transport sector, and stimulating the development and growth of gas-related businesses in the country.

USA-based Kenworth Truck Company hosted a truck show in Indianapolis featuring compressed natural gas (CNG) powered and hybrid Kenworths at the start of December. The company’s dedication to provision of green fleet choices includes compressed and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks. More than 350 truck and fleet operators learned about new available equipment and the future of natural gas fuel in the trucking industry. Also presented were free training sessions on vehicle maintenance and grant writing.

As part of the build-up to ANGVA’s 4th Natural Gas for Vehicles Conference & Exhibition for Asia-Pacific in Beijing, October 18-20, ANGVA kicked off the Green Highways 2011 (AGH2011) Southern Route on 12th July 2011 in Jakarta. The AGH2011′s torch and scroll was handed over from Team Indonesia to Team Singapore during the Flag off ceremony. ANGVA also held a Roundtable Forum over 12-13 July to discuss Effective Strategies to Push Indonesia’s CNG/NGV Program Successfully beyond 2011, attended by around 90 participants.

A New Report on Turning Trash into Vehicle Fuel
Industry members have gathered in Berlin this week for NGV 2011 Berlin, NGVA Europe’s 2nd Conference and Exhibition. Delegates and visitors attending the event celebrated with members of the association its three full years of operation. A three day workshop program was preceded by the association’s general meeting during which members heard of the achievements of the association over the past year and a summary of progress to date. The association has pulled impressive membership growth to date rising from 20 members in May 2008, when the association was first formed, to more than 130 today. Among the most recent recruits are Gazprom (Russia) and Volvo AB (Sweden) both of which take up Director’s entitlements on the Board of the association.
