Bolivia to Test Imported Chinese CNG 4500cc Engines
Bolivia’s National Hydrocarbon Agency (ANH) has given the green light for commencement of its CNG conversion program in Cochabamba. Conversions, due to commence in about two weeks, will include replacing aged CNG cylinders that have been in service since Bolivia first moved to natural gas vehicles approximately 15 years ago, with new CNG cylinders on about 14,000 vehicles. In Santa Cruz, immediate emphasis is on converting diesel buses, for which the government has plans to endorse the purchase of 6,000 Chinese motors.

Emerson Process Management has obtained an extension to its MID (Measurement Instrument Directive) certificate to include Micro Motion ELITE Coriolis meters for low flow applications. The Micro Motion meters are ideally suited to cryogenic applications for dispensing liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel to motor vehicles, including public transport and trucks. Western Australian based Advanced Engine Components (AEC) has signed a Technical Assistance Agreement and a Development and Supply Agreement with SHIGAN Quantum Technologies Pvt Ltd (SQT) of India. Xebec Certified Vendor in China
Canadian company Xebec Adsorption Inc., providers of equipment for the purification and dehydration of natural gas for natural gas vehicle (NGV) refueling stations, has become a certified vendor of natural gas dehydration equipment to Sinopec and CNPC – both leading Chinese energy companies and developers of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations in China. In the year to date, Xebec says it has received orders for a total of four natural gas dryers from these companies for CNG stations to be constructed in late 2009. Natural gas dryers are used to remove moisture from natural gas distributed by pipeline to meet the requirements of fuel-grade CNG.
New Delphi CNG Injector to Reduce Emissions by 25%, Ready 2011

Delphi CNG Injector in development for 2011 launch
Delphi Corporation has announced new developments in the area of fuel injection systems, ignition, valve train and ancillary systems to assist European manufacturers of gasoline engines to meet growing demands for reduced CO2 and other tailpipe emissions without the cost and risk of radically different technologies. Included is a new CNG injector which Delphi’s chief engineer advanced powertrain, Dr. Walter Piock, says “is optimised for the unique chemical and physical properties of this low lubricity fuel”. The proposed new CNG injector can be driven by a typical gasoline ECM (Electronic Control Module) which enables low cost implementation. The planned introduction date is toward the end of 2011. Delphi meanwhile has also released worldwide emissions standards guides for heavy and light duty vehicles which may be of interest to NGV Global readers.
