Best Paper Award at NGV2008
Diego Goldin of ProGNC, Argentina won the New Zealand NGV Award for the paper which shows the best prospects for future development of the NGV industry. The paper is entitled “Global Harmonization of Standards for Gas Fuelled Vehicles – Latin-American Experience.â€Â The award was made at the closing ceremony of NGV2008 in Rio de Janeiro. The paper examines the consequences of harmonization and indeed states “Non Harmonization is EVIL.â€Â Goldin is closely involved in both ISO and Mercosaur standards preparation and is hence ideally placed to ensure harmonization between those two groups of NGV standards. World Bank studies show that ISO standards are the most widely accepted amongst the main NGV countries.
The judges of the award had to choose from 40 technical papers presented at the conference.
Copies of papers presented at NGV 2008, including Diego’s paper, are available now for purchase at the IANGV website.
