Carbon Fiber Shortage Short Term

July 6, 2005

Fleets and Fuels reports that carbon fiber supply shortages, caused
by increasing demand in the military and aerospace industries, are
affecting some manufacturers of composite CNG cylinders.

The shortage is affecting different manufacturers to varying degrees,
with Luxfer withdrawing from the CNG cylinder market for the short term
and Dynetek advising the that shortage is having no effect on
production at all. Increased production capacity to be implemented in
the coming two years is expected to alleviate the shortage. More
