IMPCO is now accepting orders for BRC FuelMaker VRAs in North America
‘Phill’ order books to open soon.
Almost one year after the assets of Canadian based FuelMaker Corporation were bought by Italian company MTM/BRC, the revitalised company says it’s ready to supply CNG (compressed natural gas) refueling product of any size. BRC’s line of large compressors have been incorporated under the new brand of BRC FuelMaker, which will be responsible for the manufacturing, marketing sales and service for all natural gas refueling systems. Mario Pirraglia, Director of Sales & Marketing, says inclusion of large compressors makes it the only manufacturer in the world offering a complete line of CNG refueling solutions capable of refueling from a single vehicle to thousands.
The transition to the new arrangements saw operations shift from Canada to Italy. Manufacturing and R&D of all BRC FuelMaker products will be performed from its headquarters in Cherasco, Italy. With the exception of North America, BRC FuelMaker will manage the worldwide market from there also, accepting all international orders as well as handling service for the VRA (vehicle refueling appliance) product line.
In North America, where orders are already being accepted from the largely unchanged dealer network, service will be done by IMPCO. IMPCO is the North American Importer/Distributor for all BRC FuelMaker products (excluding large compressors).
Pirraglia says the BRC FuelMaker System is established as the benchmark VRA with 94 international patents and a state-of-the-art patented natural gas compressor that can be installed almost anywhere.
VRAs, certified as appliances by CSA and carrying the CE mark, are targeted at small to medium sized fleets of commercial vehicles, in-plant vehicles, such as forklifts and ice cleaners, other specialty vehicles and smaller vehicle populations. The BRC FuelMaker System’s design has the flexibility to fuel vehicles quickly (Fast-Fill) or over a period of time (Time-Fill), as required.
Service for all ‘Phill’ units, their home refuelling appliance, will be performed in Cherasco, Italy at the BRC FuelMaker facility. Pirraglia says the company will shortly be accepting Phill orders.
Massimiliano Fissore, previously of Zavoli (another MTM/BRC subsidiary), has been appointed BRC FuelMaker General Manager in Italy.
In May 2009 FuelMaker’s assets and technology, were purchased by MTM/BRC, headquartered in Cherasco Italy. The product line has been rebranded as BRC FuelMaker.
As North America and the rest of the world wrestle with solutions to environmental and energy self-sufficiency issues, a number of alternate technologies have and will continue to emerge. Today, BRC FuelMaker currently manufactures, distributes, installs and services their Vehicle Refueling Appliances (VRA) and accessories for fueling vehicles powered by CNG. BRC FuelMaker and FuelMaker have been providing refueling infrastructure solutions for more than 20 years. With over 11,000 VRAs sold worldwide, BRC FuelMaker is a leader in the alternative fuels industry.

Our VRAs are certified as appliances by CSA and carry the CE mark. Consequently, we are able to market and distribute our products without the additional cost and regulatory delays common to all other natural gas vehicle (NGV) compression equipment companies.
Our technology, industry reputation and proven product performance have enabled us to capitalize on the emerging Alternative Fuel markets for conventional internal combustion, hydrogen fuel cell, and hybrid/electric vehicles. We will continue to provide the solution to the refueling infrastructure dilemma facing the alternative energy industry now and particularly in the future. In May 2009 FuelMaker’s assets and technology, were purchased by MTM/BRC, headquartered in Cherasco Italy.
