Xuzhou city public transportation company Xuzhou North Bus Co., Ltd has ordered a total of 134 Hengtong natural gas city buses, model CKZ6116HN4, to take up operations in the city early December. 85 buses will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and 49 will be powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). The 10.5m buses use a Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co. Ltd 7.8 litre engine.
Compared to buses operating on conventional fuels, Hengtong LNG buses are said to operate about 20% more economically and have a significantly reduced impact on the city environment. With low emissions conforming to China National Vehicle Pollutant Emission Standards: idling emissions standards GB18285-2005 (HD gasoline vehicles), GB17691-2005 (HD diesel vehicles), GB11340-2005 (crankcase) and National Ⅳ Standard, the buses will be welcomed in Xuzhou, the country’s major transportation crossroad and rail hub known as “five provinces thoroughfare”.
