Based on a patented hybrid design, xperion, a manufacturer of Type 4 high pressure composite cylinders, has succeeded in developing a light, robust and secure rack intended especially for monofuel trucks as well as duel-fuel trucks. The flexibility of the system enables, for instance, one or two racks to be installed on the side of the truck chassis. The optionally integrated compressed natural gas (CNG) “filling receptacle” further simplifies the installation.
Together with the X-STORE type 4 high-pressure cylinder and its patented hybrid design, the new rack combines all the advantages of a mobile and efficient system which xperion says is superior to alternative concepts such as the type 1 steel tank solution. The system is approximately 50% lighter than conventional solutions of steel.
The weight-optimised rack, especially designed for trucks over 12 tons GVW, offers end-users a solution for increasing the truck load by roughly 450 kg. Not only is efficiency demonstrated in balanced transport costs per load for fleet operators, it can also be seen in the lower operating costs (costs of energy) and lower fuel consumption coupled with lower wear. Regular maintenance-related hydraulic inspections of the high-pressure tank are no longer required.
The entirely galvanised frame ensures the required corrosion resistance and is therefore designed for long-term use. The tanks integrated into the frame have ECE R110 certification.
