Xebec Adsorption Inc. (Xebec), a provider of biogas upgrading, natural gas and hydrogen purification solutions for the clean energy market, has signed a contract valued at RMB 7.1 million (USD 1.08 m) to provide a complete biogas upgrading plant to Heilongjiang Loonggas Investment Co., Ltd. in China. This new project will be engineered and manufactured in Xebec’s Shanghai facility, and installed at an anaerobic digester site in Heilongjiang province where municipal organic waste will generate biogas which will be upgraded to biomethane for injection into the utility’s natural gas pipeline grid and potential use as a transportation fuel.Xebec Vice President of Asia Pacific Andrew Hall, explained that their dry process systems produce no environmental emissions. “In addition, they offer significant practical benefits to our customers, as they are locally produced, fully compliant to Chinese code requirements, skid-mounted solutions that require minimal site setup, can be installed quickly and cost-effectively, and in operation, they provide both ease of control and fast dynamic response to changes in biogas feed conditions,” he added.

Commissioning and start-up of the upgrading plants is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2011.
