Volvo 8400 CNG City Bus
Volvo Buses has commenced trials of its Volvo 8400 low floor compressed natural gas (CNG) city bus in Navi Mumbai, a planned satellite city on the west coast of the Indian state of Maharashtra, reports This Week Bangalore. The CNG bus will be operated on the Kharghar-Borivali (via Powai) route with an average running of 300 km per day.
Volvo’s first trials of the CNG 8400 were carried out by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) in June 2011.
“The trials in New Delhi have been going on for about six months now and the feedback has been very reassuring,” said Akash Passey, Managing Director & CEO, Volvo Buses in India.
