Clean Air Power, developer and provider of dual-fuel combustion technology that enables heavy-duty diesel engines to operate on a combination of diesel and natural gas, has received an order from Bestway Express, Inc. for 16 dual-fuel system installations in the US, in which Clean Air Power’s technology will be applied to a Caterpillar 410 horsepower C12 engine.
The solution uses a legacy product within the Company’s product range which is now able to be sold in the US due to recent changes in US emissions legislation.
Commenting on the order, John Pettitt, CEO of Clean Air Power, said: “We are delighted to be able to re-enter the US market which historically has been the most successful for Clean Air Power. Awareness and demand for natural gas vehicles is high in the US and the abundant domestic gas supply provides both financial and energy security incentives for US operators to adopt our technology.”
Headquartered in Vincennes, Indiana, Bestway is a family owned and operated trucking company with a fleet of 300 power units and 800 dry van trailers.
