Tenens Fleet in UK Adds 35 Dual-Fuel Trucks

Tenens fleet vehicles use natural gasAn emission-busting deal has been agreed for dual-fuel expert Prins Autogas UK to convert a fleet of HGVs for Howard Tenens, one of the largest family-owned logistics companies in the UK. Howard Tenens has been running its operations using compressed natural gas (CNG) and renewable fuel biomethane for approaching five years. It has now chosen Southampton-based Prins Autogas UK to equip 35 new vehicles with the carbon-reducing green technology.

The partnership was sealed after an eight-month trial of two HGVs running on Prins Autogas UK ultra-reliable system demonstrating the ability to shrink CO2 emissions by up to 50 per cent.

Prins Autogas UK uses a diesel blend system that can replace up to 55 per cent diesel with CNG or LNG and up to 30 per cent diesel with LPG. Its technology has international back-up thanks to Prins’ global reach, with established distribution channels in over 50 countries.

The fleet is a mix of 4×2 and 6×2 vehicles and the first vehicle is set to roll off the conversion facilities in Southampton at the end of July, with the job expected to be completed by September.
