Italian natural gas truck manufacturer Iveco, Maganetti Group (a collective for logistics and transport companies in the province of Sondrio) and mineral water producers Levissima-Sanpellegrino (Nestlé) have opened a new LNG-CNG station in the Como Lake region of Northern Italy. Poitiers natural gas station Continuing to promote natural gas as an alternative for mobility across Europe, Gas Natural Fenosa, through its subsidiary Gas Natural Europe has opened its second public natural gas fueling station in France. This station, located in Poitiers, offers both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). It is the first in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and has an 80 m3 tank and capacity to supply all sorts of vehicles: lorries, buses, tractors, light or utility vehicles. Read more »

Speed Oy, a specialized container transport company based in Helsinki, Finland, has decided to introduce a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-fueled Volvo FM 460 hp dual-fuel truck to its fleet operating from Helsinki’s Vuosaari Harbor. An LNG refueling station for heavy-duty vehicles will open at the harbour in August by Gasum, a Finnish gas company intent on developing the road fuel gas filling station network enabling the use of LNG in heavy-duty transport.  Read more »

Finland’s first LNG/LCNG pilot station will be constructed by the company in Turkul located on the south west coast. EU Member States represented in the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Coordination Committee have approved the allocation of EUR 13.1 billion (USD 14.3 billion) to support a total of 276 projects selected following the first transport calls for proposals under the CEF, published in 2014. 2014 has been the first programming year under the CEF. At least 27 natural gas for transportation projects are included, attracting CEF funding of almost EUR 235 million (USD 256m). Read more »

The European Commission has granted EUR 2.65 million (USD 2.9m) in financial support to a Gasum project studying the opportunities to develop a new kind of LNG refueling station network for heavy-duty vehicles. The project will involve Finnish natural gas importer and retailer Gasum constructing four pilot stations within the TEN-T Core Network in Helsinki, Vantaa, Turku and Jyväskylä, Finland. Read more »
