Budapest-based Waberer’s International, Shell and Danube Truck Ltd (IVECO’s sole distributor in Hungary), has concluded a successful gas fueled vehicle test series in full truckload (FTL) transportation in the last two months. Due to the excellent operation data and environmental impact assessments, Waberer’s is willing to enlarge its 4,400 strong fleet with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) powered IVECO trucks. California Ups Weight Limit for Natural Gas HDVs

The U.S. State of California last week passed legislation to modify existing state law that sets specified limits on the total gross weight imposed on the highway by a vehicle with any group of 2 or more consecutive axles. By doing so, the law removes the unintended economic restriction upon natural gas and other alt-fuel vehicles with fuel systems heavier than that used for conventional fuels. Read more »

Shell completed the inauguration of its first LNG Retail station for trucks in Hamburg, Germany on September 18, adding another milestone in its journey to roll out LNG for the road transport sector within Europe given the increase in freight traffic on European roads. IVECO was in attendance with the Stralis NP 460. The new LNG station is located in the south of Hamburg at Georgswerder Bogen, an important refueling spot for freight transport near the Hamburg Port. As part of a collaborative arrangement with FPT Industrial, the truck is equipped with a 400hp dedicated natural gas engine from the Italian manufacturer, built onto a TATA Daewoo commercial vehicle chassis. Gasum Accelerates Nordic Natural Gas Uptake with 50 Stations for HDVs

Gasum is investing in the construction of around 50 gas filling stations for heavy-duty vehicles in Finland, Sweden and Norway by the beginning of the 2020s. KOGAS Plans Nearly USD 900 Million Investment in LNG for Mobility

Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), a state-operated energy company, says it will invest 1 trillion won (US$895 million) by 2025 to establish infrastructure for liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered vessels and trucks, as well as hydrogen-fueled vehicles, reports news agency Yonhap. The announcement confirms views expressed by Ministry officials, KOGAS and KANGV earlier this year to develop the sector. Read more »
