TATA Daewoo with FPT Industrial engineEarlier this month, a TATA Daewoo high horsepower truck fueled by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) was handed over at the KOGAS LCNG charging station in Daejeon, to commence a long-awaited pilot project. As part of a collaborative arrangement with FPT Industrial, the truck is equipped with a 400hp dedicated natural gas engine from the Italian manufacturer, built onto a TATA Daewoo commercial vehicle chassis. Gasum is investing in the construction of around 50 gas filling stations for heavy-duty vehicles in Finland, Sweden and Norway by the beginning of the 2020s. Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), a state-operated energy company, says it will invest 1 trillion won (US$895 million) by 2025 to establish infrastructure for liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered vessels and trucks, as well as hydrogen-fueled vehicles, reports news agency Yonhap.
