BMVI leads the LNG seachange with Atair II

Germany’s Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is now promoting the upgrading and conversion of seagoing vessels to liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel. The aim of the new funding program is to promote the use of LNG in German maritime shipping. The funds are made available from the mobility and fuel strategy (MKS). UK OLEV Funds Natural Gas Bus Fleet for Bristol

Bristol is trialling an RNG-powered double decker.

Bus users will benefit from cleaner and greener journeys in Bristol, England, following the granting of £4.8 million for 110 natural gas buses. The funding has been approved under the government’s ‘Low emission bus scheme’ and was apparently stimulated by the publishing of an air quality plan submitted by the UK Department for Transport, Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV). EC Approves Alternative-fuel Funding for Czech Republic

The European Commission (EC) approved a measure this week that will see increased deployment of alternative-fuel vehicles in the Czech Republic. The EC has determined that Czech plans to support the creation of a network of refuelling for low emission vehicles to be in line with EU state aid rules.  Read more »

ECO-GATE Funded to Develop European Natural Gas Mobility

The European Union has approved funding of EUR 10 million (USD 10.8 million) for the ECO-GATE project in order to develop the natural gas market for mobility. Gas Natural Fenosa will manage and coordinate the project, heading a consortium made up of natural gas operators, technology and service providers, end users and marketing and promotion knowledge experts in Spain, Portugal, France and Germany.
