ECO-GATE Funded to Develop European Natural Gas Mobility

The European Union has approved funding of EUR 10 million (USD 10.8 million) for the ECO-GATE project in order to develop the natural gas market for mobility. Gas Natural Fenosa will manage and coordinate the project, heading a consortium made up of natural gas operators, technology and service providers, end users and marketing and promotion knowledge experts in Spain, Portugal, France and Germany. CNG Buses Leased by Jerez to Replace Ageing Diesel Fleet

Containerships Gains Grant to Adopt Whole-Supply-Chain LNG

Government of Canada Invests in RNG

The Canadian Government, through the Minstry of Natural Resources, is to invest $800,000 (USD 600k) in G4 Insights Inc., a renewable natural gas (RNG) producer, for the development of technology to convert forestry waste into RNG that can be distributed through existing natural gas pipelines in Canada, enhancing the availability of RNG for transportation and energy applications. Texas Bill Filed for Continuation of NGV Incentives

Legislation has been filed in the U.S. State of Texas to continue natural gas vehicle and station funding under the Texas Emission Reduction Plan (TERP). Senate Bill 26 (SB 26), lodged 18 January, includes the Governmental Alternative Fuel Fleet Grant Program encouraging state fleets with more than 15 vehicles to purchase new alternative fuel vehicles. CNG Fuels will trial 43 dedicated gas HGVs

Funding from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and Innovate UK (agencies of the Department for Transport and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) has been awarded to several natural gas for transportation projects, announced this week by Transport Minister John Hayes. The funding is provided to successful applicants who entered the government sponsored competition to stimulate the development of ultra low emission vehicle (ULEV) technologies. Read more »

Ontario Trucking Association Facilitates Fleet Transition to Natural Gas

The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) has issued a report entitled Natural Gas as an Alternative Fuel for Canadian Truck Fleets: A Roadmap Toward Implementation. The report is intended to assist the Government of Ontario in the design of a heavy truck natural gas program as part of the Canadian province’s drive to reduce carbon emissions from heavy trucks, by proposing a funding model.
