MV Bahama Mama will be converted to LNG

The Spanish shipping company Baleària’s multi-vessel conversion project is one of several Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) initiatives to be approved in the latest round of the European Union’s TEN-T funding for sustainable and innovative transport projects. Baleària submitted its application as part of TEN-T’s CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) program. The company’s objective, being to remotorize five ferries of its fleet, has been described by the EU as “excellent”. Read more »

The European Union argues that without its support, private operators and national authorities have insufficient incentives to carry out large infrastructure projects with a cross-border impact and to roll–out European-wide interoperable systems and services.
