Colombia’s Autoridad Nacional de Licencias Ambientales — ANLA (National Authority of Environmental Licences) recently approved environmental certifications for mass transit companies in the country to access tax benefits, incorporating energy sources that are more environmentally friendly. AMGN Implores Mexican Governments to Support Natural Gas Fuel to Reduce Air Pollution

Last week in Mexico, the Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis (Comisión Ambiental de la Megalópolis – CAMe) declared in motion an extraordinary environmental contingency on May 14 due to the excessive fine particles existing in the air (PM2.5). A third of air pollution in the country is generated by the vehicle fleet, so cleaner fuels are required. The Mexican Association of Natural Gas (AMGN) is calling of governments in Mexico to promote widespread adoption of natural gas for cleaner transportation. Read more »

Peruvian Conversions to CNG Continue Steady Growth

In Peru, the natural gas vehicle (NGV) market has transitioned from a new market in 2005 through years of major expansion to achieve an average of 7.5% growth per annum over the past three years. 2019 looks set to continue that trend. According to information supplied by INFOGAS for the end of April 2019, 281,194 vehicles have now been converted to CNG operation, of which 277,338 are recorded as being active (not deregistered).
