The Golden Dragon XML6105J13CN LNG bus
Late last year Golden Dragon Bus Co., Ltd won a bid to supply 60 of the 100 liquefied natural gas (LNG) city buses put out to tender by Hangzhou Public Transportation Company for the city of Xiaoshan. The first batch of 20 buses, model XML6105J13CN, were supplied for placement into operation in January. The purchase of LNG buses is part of a directive by the Hangzhou government which calls for “energy-saving, emission reduce and environment protection.” An LNG station has been built with another to follow.
Li Shouren, Golden Dragon technology center engineer, said the company has opted to place LNG storage above the engine compartment, where it is safest and will not affect the space usage inside the bus. The independent gas storage compartment is more convenient for repair and maintenance.
