Singapore’s government has decided that buyers of compressed natural gas vehicles and other green cars will get a tax break for another 12 months, to 31 December 2012, as they try to encourage further uptake of these vehicles.

The Green Business Times reports that buyers of such vehicles enjoy 40 per cent off the Additional Registration Fee (ARF), the main car tax, on passenger vehicles. Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam reportedly stated the government will undertake a comprehensive review of the measures to promote the adoption of green vehicles.
