Early April this year Igor Sechin, the President and Chairman of the Management Board of Russian oil and gas company Rosneft and Russian Machines Chairman of the Board of Directors Siegfried Wolf signed a memorandum of cooperation in production and sales of natural gas engine fuel in Russia, particularly in Moscow and Leningrad oblast, Krasnodar territory and on major highways to Europe.
Under the terms of the memorandum, Rosneft and Russian Machines agreed a set of joint efforts aimed at developing gas engine fuel market in Russia, including the possibility to provide space for gas filling modules at Rosneft filling stations, connection of the filling modules to gas pipelines and supplies of natural gas, the only type of fuel that complies with Euro-6 standard.
Russian Machines will consider the possibility to provide technical solutions for compressed natural gas (CNG) modules for Rosneft’s and its subsidiaries’ gas filling stations as part of the program to develop motor transport run on gas.
The parties plan to establish a joint working group to generate coordinated approach. The working group will consider possible ways of cooperation, including the creation of a joint operating company to ensure the development of gas engine filling stations infrastructure.
