Petronas, Malaysia’s government owned oil and gas company, will open eight kiosks for natural gas refuelling in Perak, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha in a Business Times report. Five are planned to be operating in March and the other three by December. A Petronas spokesperson confirmed with NGV Global News that the stations will be placed as add-ons to existing Petronas gasoline stations and are primarily intended to support the region’s large natural gas powered taxi fleet.

Ipoh would have six new kiosks, namely in Kampung Kepayang, Tasek, Lahat, Taman Putra Indah, Pengakalan Utama and Sungai Raya. The other two would be in Bandar University (Tronoh) and Kamunting (Taiping).

The current kiosks are in Simpang Lima and Kampung Kedah (Parit Buntar), Taman Samudera (Manjung) and Aulong (Taiping).
