Italian natural gas vehicle manufacturer Iveco used the occasion of Pollutec 2016, held in Lyon early December, to deliver to Moulinot Compost & Biogas its first Daily 7 t powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and equipped with a bin for the collection of organic waste. Moulinot was founded in 2013 as part of a pilot project involving restaurants, caterers, hotels, markets, schools and others to collect and recycle bio-waste in order to reduce food waste while protecting the environment.
Following the success of this project, Stephan Martinez, Parisian restaurateur and founder of the company – which started at that time with Piaggio and a first CNG Stralis CNG 19 t – has sought to develop its business and expand its fleet with new vehicles. Thus, at the Pollutec exhibition, he took delivery of the first of an order for five Daily CNG equipped with a waste collection bin, sold by the group’s Heavyweight Villeneuve-la Iveco dealer Warren.
Powered by compressed natural gas, the Daily 7 t (70C14 G) develops 136 hp for a torque up to 350 Nm. It provides low-noise operations and improved environmental performance compared to an equivalent diesel vehicle, in particular in terms of emissions of fine particles and NOx. In addition, addressing environmental issues highlighted by the authorities, including the city of Paris, the Daily CNG is positioned as an immediately available alternative for everyday urban use, day and night.
Equipped with a ECOPAC SUPER satellite bin complete with compaction device. made by SEMAT with a total capacity of 8m 3, this vehicle is ideal for collecting biowaste. Specially designed for difficult routes including access to city centers and pedestrian streets, the Daily is highly manouverable.
Iveco, a brand of CNH Industrial NV, is a member of NGV Italy and associate member of NGV Global.
