The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, an instrumentality of the State of Oklahoma created for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining turnpikes (toll roads) in that State, has approved the purchase of 40 compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered vehicles for its fleet, reports Tulsa World. Turnpike Authority currently has one CNG refueling station, in Stroud, with others to be added as part of the Authority’s asset management program. The purchase is said to be in response to Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin’s initiative to convert the state fleet to CNG.
