Oasis Engineering Ltd, a New Zealand company that has engineered parts for all major Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) companies worldwide, has been living life in the fast lane, culminating in export awards for Andy Cameron, Managing Director and Felipe Aquilera, Sales Engineer. “It’s been quite a quarter,” says Cameron, “and these awards just put an exclamation mark on it.”
The Tauranga-based CNG valve and coupling manufacturer has had an eventful Q2. Events began in April when market leading refuelling equipment Elaflex Hiby purchased a 70% share in the company. “The new partnership has really given us a new momentum,” said Cameron. “Elaflex and Oasis have completely aligned customer service ethics and focus, and we have found the partnership to be a great way to work.”
Oasis Fueling Nozzle
In June, Oasis launched the NC203 – a new slim line NGV1 nozzle and the FV103- a new light duty fill valve; the combination will be a serious step up in vehicle connection equipment. The company designed the P30 (3000psi) and P36 (3600psi) NC203 fueling nozzles with an improved ergonomic grip, added overall length for ease of coupling and a slimmer body.
“The NC203 is a great product which will significantly improve CNG vehicle filling,” said Cameron. “The unique design cannot experience jaw-jamming and the segment system prevents the receptacle distortion problem seen with ball grip style nozzles. It will save CNG station owners thousands of dollars and will keep CNG motorists happy.” Oasis has been working with selected customers in many differing markets and has had significant positive feedback.
The Export New Zealand Awards are an annual event celebrating excellence in export and manufacturing. Oasis’s Felipe Aguilera (Sales Engineer) won the Export Achievement Award ahead of stiff competition. The judges said Aguilera embodied the key attributes of openness, innovation, inclusiveness and honesty – key ingredients in his company’s success.
Shortly thereafter, Cameron was honoured with the Services to Export Award. It pays tribute to his significant and long-standing contribution to the Bay of Plenty export and wider community.
Cameron said, “Felipe is thoroughly deserving of this award for all his hard work. The Service to Export Award is recognition of Oasis setting the standard. It reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and employee empowerment and as such the award belongs to all the team. It did give me great pleasure to have endorsements from many people in the CNG industry and I thank them for it.”
Expect good things from Oasis going forward – that is the message they are keen to send out.
