Next week’s co-located NGV Global 2014 conference and exhibition and ACT Expo 2014 in Long Beach, California will celebrate both the global achievements of the natural gas industry to date and cast an eye to the issues and opportunities that will shape the industry’s future. While encompassing the global perspective it will also recognise the emergence of natural gas as a fuel of choice in North America, heralded by increased investment, broader product offerings, expanded infrastructure, adoption by national fleets, and new applications for this cleaner abundant fuel.
Debuts, Launches, Introductions …
Clean Air Power will showcase the Genesis EDGE Dual-Fuel™ system for Volvo D13 and MACK MP8 engines on a UPS vehicle. The company’s flagship technology is a patented Dual-Fuel™ system which enables heavy-duty diesel engines to operate primarily on natural gas with 100% diesel power back-up.
The newest additions to Peterbilt’s extensive lineup of natural gas powered commercial vehicles – the aerodynamic, on-highway Model 579 and the all-purpose vocational Model 567 – will be on display. Peterbilt announced the two new vehicle configurations in March. Both vehicles are equipped with the Cummins-Westport ISX12 G and use compressed natural gas.
Luxfer-GTM Technologies, LLC, a joint venture between Luxfer Group and GTM Technologies, will introduce two new gas-storage products:
- the patented, mobile GTM1350-Refueler for dispensing high-pressure CNG. Mounted on a compact trailer that can be towed behind a standard 3/4 -ton pickup truck, the GTM1350-R has a CNG capacity of 46,000 scf (335 DGE) and an integrated, on-board booster pump and dispenser; and
- the G-Pak system for storage and transportation of high-pressure gases, including CNG and hydrogen, at pressures up to 5,000 psig.
World CNG will debut its latest product, A CARB certified compressed natural gas RAM Promaster van. The CARB certification will cover all RAM Promaster models with the 3.6L Pentastar engines converted to dedicated CNG with World CNG’s conversion system, featuring direct reprogramming of the factory engine control unit.
NGV Solutions will introduce its new G-FORCE Model 125 mid-level compressor system, designed to service fast fill stations in emerging markets, small- to medium-sized time-fill fleets, forklift fleets and portable, temporary refueling sites.
Go Natural CNG will debut its next-generation Fuel Interface Module (FIM) – a product that enables light-duty NGV conversions via a single high-pressure manifold.
And there is much, much more. See you next week!
