CNG Bus on a stamp for MowasalatMowasalat, popularly known as the “The Transport Company” in Qatar, in cooperation with Qatar General Postal Corporation (Q-Post) has brought out a postage stamp featuring the Mowasalat logo to coincide with the launching of the country’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) bus.

Mowasalat sees the releasing of the stamp as an official endorsement of its efforts towards protecting the environment by adopting sustainable practices as an advanced transport industry. The integrated transport solutions provider designed the new energy and eco-friendly buses in its initiative to reduce carbon emissions, reports the Qatar Tribune. By adding CNG buses to its world-class fleet, Mowasalat is contributing toward substitution of conservative fuels.

“We still exert a lot of efforts to implement our policies based on the success of our fight against environmental pollution. The occasion is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the extreme importance of using clean energy as an integral part of our commitment, which we strive to translate into the successful operations of our services,” said Mowasalat Chairman Jassim Saif al Sulaiti.

This is just one of the initiatives in fulfilling Karwa’s unique and ambitious plan of refuelling its world-class fleet through strategic steps aimed at providing optimum services while conserving the environment”, the chairman added.

A CNG fuelling station was opened by Mowasalat in the Small and Medium Industries Area in November last year, inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum (QP). The station was designed and built by QP as a pilot project and is part of the feasibility study of using CNG as an alternative fuel for road transport in Qatar.
